Real Facts about Life After Death

So far, mankind has yet to discover or prove the existence of life-after-death but with the exemption of various religious beliefs. According to most religions, those righteous people are greatly rewarded for their good deeds once they have died.

If you come to think about it, what if you died (physical death) and you really cease to exist? It's like you have never existed in the first place. Some people may be able to accept it but for most, it gives them a very unsettling mind.

Unsettling Mind

Here are the facts regarding about mankind's current view about life-after-death:

1. Life-After-Death can be Easily Disproved

There isn't actually any strong physical evidence that can prove the existence of life-after-death. It's because no one was able to undergo physical death and came back to life to tell something about it. But when it comes to Christian Religious belief, Jesus Christ was the proof.

How about Near-Death-Experiences or Out-of-the-Body-Experiences?

Those people who experienced NDE or OBE didn't really left their bodies out and wondered around various places of the spiritual realm. In fact, some scientists claim that a person who undergoes physical death can still be revived within six hours period from the time of his or her death. Thus, those NDE experiences probably took place inside the person's own consciousness.

2. Our High Level of Consciousness Suggests that there may be a Afterlife

We humans have reached such a high level of consciousness especially about our existence. Everyone are aware about their mortality that physical death will soon arrive to each one of us. It can never be avoided.

With such state of consciousness, it would be pointless living on this life if there is no life-after-death that awaits us. In short, it would have been much better if we didn't existed in the first place. But if this is what really awaits us, then it is the ultimate form of cruelty.

3. Science cannot Prove the Existence of Life-After-Death

Science has its limits. There are still so many scientific boundaries that can never be explained. The study of "Life" alone is a subject that science could not explain and duplicate with any artificial means. Aside from life is our "Consciousness". Our consciousness didn't simply came out from nothing.

4. A Creator of Ultimate Spiritual Force behind Everything

Many people believe that the universe weren't created by its own natural way. If it did then there is probably no life on it as it does not care about the existence of life. Since the world was created and made perfectly suitable for life to flourish, there's a strong possibility that a certain "Driving Force" or "Creator" is responsible for the design of everything.

5. Most Individuals doesn't care about Afterlife

On this modern age world, most people are too wrap up with their busy daily activities that they don't even have the time for themselves for some self-reflection. As a result, most of them don't believe about life-after-death.

If you are one of them, I suggest that you should give yourself some time and spend it in a silent room with no distractions. You have to do this though when you are not sleepy or tired. Inside the room, what you have to do is to engage yourself in a deep thought about the subject. In most cases, your insight will lead you into the truth.

6. Not Knowing about Life-After-Death is Best for Us

Some intriguing questions about the life are the following:

a. Why are we not aware about who really created us?
b. Where do we go after we die?
c. Do we really have a purpose in life?
d. Why humans and other living creatures exists?
e. Why don't we have direct knowledge about the Creator?
f. Why can't we contact our Creator?

Those are just some of the few questions that most people often asks about our existence. To answer them (based on my own opinion), maybe "not knowing is the best for us".

Let's assume that we already know the answers into those questions above. As a result, everyone will surely get motivated to do the right thing to achieve the reward into their actions.

7. There is Life-After-Death without a Creator or God

Most of us really believe that the universe was designed by a highly intelligent being known as the "Creator". Thus, afterlife is a strong possibility for each one of us. In fact, most religions around the world claims that the Creator have prepared everyone a place to stay after our physical death. Although the settings or restrictions varies from one religious belief to another.

On the other hand, did you know that the opposite can also be a possibility?

The opposite case is that, there could be life-after-death but without a Creator or God.

8. Reincarnation has a Strong Possibility

Each and every one of us has their own unique personality. According to reincarnation beliefs, your personality reflects yourself in your past previous lives. This is probably the reason why some people are much smarter or wiser than the others. It's because they had already undergone several cycles of being reincarnated back to life here on Earth.

9. There is no God

Today, the world offers various sufferings especially injustices, abuses and social inequalities. Due to such unpleasant situation of the world, people tends to believe that there is no God, otherwise why would God allows such unfair sufferings in our lives. Although, some people who sticks in the belief of God that the right time will soon come to the wicked for their punishments.

10. A Sense of What is Right and Wrong

As a human being into this world, we are given the capability to use our own mind especially for the judgment of our actions. It is quite surprising that all of us are aware about "what is right" and "what is wrong". In fact, young children quickly develops these two kinds of awareness.

Our Creator probably gave us the sense of knowing what is right and wrong so that we can self evaluate and regulate our actions or behaviors for a good cause.

Reincarnation in the Bible

Reincarnation is a belief that when a certain person dies, his soul will once again revive but from another different physical body or other living creatures on Earth. This topic has already been covered on this post:

What is Reincarnation and is it Real?

You have to know that Christian belief is strongly against reincarnation because it clearly made conflicts or contradictions to the doctrines written in the Bible. This was clearly pointed out in Hebrews 9:27;

27] "Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God".

Based from Hebrews 9:27, every individual will only die just once. There won't be any resurrection to another physical body that is involved. Once you died, you will no longer have another chance to live a life on Earth. But upon death, God will soon be the judge that holds your fate.

If you are aware about the story of Jesus Christ, specifically at the part when he was crucified along with the other two criminals, he said something about life-after-death. This can be read on the Bible's Luke 23:43;

43] Jesus said to him, "I promise you that today you will be in Paradise with me".

One of the criminal who was crucified along with Jesus Christ had repented for his sins. Thus, Jesus had promised him that he will be together with him in Paradise upon their death. This means that life-after-death is about reaping a good way of life by living in a Paradise. But of course, you need to follow Jesus' teachings in order to be there.

How about the sinners?

Various Christian religions often comes into disagreement about light-after-death that awaits for the sinners. Some claims that sinners will be resurrected back to life but in their own spiritual form. They will then be tortured for eternity as punishment for their sins. While for others, resurrection or life-after-death is only for the righteous people and not for the sinners. In short, they will remain dead. So which one do you believe?

The fate of the unrighteous was revealed on Matthew 25:46;

46] "These, then, will be sent off to eternal punishment, but the righteous will go to eternal life."

There is actually no clear description about the eternal punishment. But for some Christian religion, the punishment is that, sinners will be thrown into the burning pit of fire or also known as "Hell".

Controversial Evidence of Reincarnation in the Bible

Some people claims that the Bible never mentioned anything about reincarnation but there is a controversial evidence of reincarnation that took place between John the Baptist and Elijah. This can be read at Matthew 17:10-12;

10] Then the disciples asked Jesus, "Why do the teachers of the Law say that Elijah has to come first?"

11] "Elijah is indeed coming first," answered Jesus, "and he will get everything ready. 12] But I tell you that Elijah has already come and people did not recognize him, but treated him just as they pleased. In the same way they will also mistreat the Son of Man."

The Bible though never mentioned that John the Baptists was the reincarnation of Elijah. To further clear things out, the people had actually asked John the Baptist if he was Elijah. His answer can be found at John 1:21;

21] "Who are you, then?" they asked. "Are you Elijah?"
"No, I am not," John answered.
"Are you the Prophet?" they asked.
"No," he replied.

Therefore, the controversial claimed evidence of reincarnation in the Bible isn't true.

The Reason Why Reincarnation is Flawed

As already mentioned above, the righteous people will reap their reward by living in a Paradise while the unrighteous will be dealt with eternal punishments. In terms of reincarnation, when good people are resurrected back to life, they end up being born from the luxury of good parents. But for the bad people, they will end up being born as poor individuals.

The main objective of reincarnation for a certain individual from being repeatedly reborn is to achieve perfection. This is where the flaw comes in because the fact is, people always commit sins. You have to know that merely thinking or having a thought of bad things into your own mind is already considered a sin. Due to this reason, no one will be able to achieved perfection and graduate out from reincarnation.

In the Bible, it was clearly stated that all people have sinned, turned from God and gone on their own way. You can read them at Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6, Jeremiah 17:9, Psalm 53:3 and Ecclesiastes 7:20.

Assuming that Christianity had accepted reincarnation, what is actually the benefit of being reborn? Considering that on your first life, you are a sinner who has turned away from God. Then on your next life, you came back as a different person but again, "as a sinner who turns away from God". This process of being resurrected over-and-over again brings no benefit to anyone.

As sinners, we require forgiveness in order for us to gain the benefits of eternal or everlasting life. The Bible repeatedly states that people should ask God for repentance and remain faithful to him at all times. Once God have forgiven your sins, you will be spending your next life in a wonderful place of Paradise. There is no need to be reincarnated at a different physical human body just to spend another life-time back to Earth.

Holy Bible

Moreover, reincarnation has already been around for a thousand years. It is actually a very popular belief that is considered by Christian as "false belief" because it contradicts the scriptures found in the Bible. But for other religions especially in the Indian Religious sectors, they do strongly believe in reincarnation. And just like the Bible, they also have their own holy scriptures that proves reincarnation's existence.

What Is Reincarnation And Is it Real?

Reincarnation is actually a "belief" that when a certain person died, he will later be reborn into another human physical body. It is a life-cycle that continuously repeats itself for eternity.

Although, being resurrected could either have good or bad consequences which is dependent to the "Law of Karma". The Law of Karma states that:

"You sow what you reap".

This means that everything that you did in the past will later come back to you. Some says that the consequence or fortune will come back to you two-times in return.

Assuming that in your previous life, you had committed a lot of bad actions. As a result, your life will be full of miseries and sufferings as your punishments from the evil deeds that you had committed in your previous life. On the other hand, if you had dedicated your entire life doing good things in your previous life, you will reap a lot of good things in return from your next life.

Reincarnation in Hinduism

In Hinduism, they do have a slight differences to the general understanding of the public about Reincarnation. They actually do believe that when a human die, he or she won't either be resurrected back as a human being. It's because his or her next life-cycle could also be a plant or an animal. This means that when you died, you can be resurrected as an insect, dog, plant or some kind of other living creature here on Earth.

Thus, Hinduism fully respects every living creatures on Earth as they do believe that those bugs or plants could be their previous relatives or future member of their families.

Reincarnation in Buddhism

Based from the Buddhist scriptures, reincarnation is describe in comparison to a guesthouse. Consider your body as the guesthouse while your own mind as the guest staying on it. When the time comes that you die, your mind leaves your physical body and then recycled into another body on your next life. It's like you as a guest who leaves the guesthouse to go and live at another place or guesthouse.

Reincarnation in the Bible

The Bible strongly oppose "reincarnation". It's because Christian religious belief claims that when a certain person died, his physical body will decay and return to dust. As for his soul and spirit, it will either be resurrected or punished at the time when God's judgment will finally take place.

Other Basic Theories About Life After Death

Throughout the years, humans especially the unbelievers of God or followers of Jesus Christ had developed their own basic theories on how they perceived life-after-death.

1. There Is No Such Thing As Soul or Spirit

- There are some people who only believes on what they can see, touch or feel with their physical senses. Thus, they don't believe in the existence of soul or spirit. So when they die, they had already accepted to themselves that their death is the end of everything for them.

Disbelief in the existence of soul or spirit is also known as "materialism". Countries with so much technological advancement are the once that follows such kind of belief.

2. Dead People Becomes Ghosts

- "Paganism" is actually the belief that dead people's soul will turn into ghosts. A ghost can be described as a vague and shadowy image of the dead person.

Pagan belief can be traced back in the Old Testament of the Bible.

3. Different Levels of the Spiritual World

- In some religion, they do believe that when a person die, his soul will be sent on a spiritual world that corresponds to his actions when he was alive. Thus, if a person had committed sins that were unforgivable such as murder, his soul will be sent at the lowest level of the spiritual world. But, if his sins does not involve killing, his soul will be sent at a higher level than the previous one. On the other hand, people with good deeds will have their souls sent at the highest level of the spiritual world.

The lowest level of the spiritual world is comparable to "hell" which is a place where the soul are severely tortured for their punishments. On the middle level of the spiritual world, souls are given the second chance to correct their mistakes such as repenting for their sins. Then at the highest level of the spiritual world, this is the place where the souls of the people who did a lot of good things goes.

Controversial Questions About Reincarnation

Reincarnation is a topic with a lot of controversial questions about its validity. No one can really prove about its existence even in the field of science.

Here are the following controversial and conflicting questions about reincarnation:

1. If reincarnation implies that a soul enters a physical body to another body then why is the population of the world constantly growing? For reincarnation to be considered valid, there should be a set of number of souls that consistently populate the world at a certain fixed amount.

2. Reincarnation is against the belief of the existence of God but then, who decides where the soul go next? If this is the case, two souls can claim the same body.

3. If people are living out due to their karma especially those poor or homeless people, then why do you need to help them by giving donations to the charity? Isn't it that they deserve to be on that kind of situation?

4. Wise people often claim to "Learn from your mistakes". But, what's the point of being reincarnated if you cannot remember your past memories of your past lives?

5. Reincarnation is all about achieving enlightenment or perfection. Once a certain soul had reached such stage, the soul goes back to the source. The question is, hasn't anyone ever reached the source? It's because if this is the case then the world population should be decreasing as people able to reach their stage of perfection.

6. Evil is an unclear subject in the field of reincarnation. So if reincarnation is really true then where did they come from and what are they?

Meditation Leads to Perfection

Moreover, despite of all those conflicting questions about reincarnation some individuals who claimed to have achieved near perfection or enlightenment states that there is no human words that can explain the answers. In order for you to know the answers, you have to achieve perfection yourself.
