Do You Have Fear of No Life After Death?

We all know that death is a part of human life and it is inevitable. No one can stop or prevent it from happening where no one has yet to discover a way to immortality which may never going to happen.

Since death puts a final end to a person’s life here on earth, majority of individuals will naturally feel fear about losing their very existence and what they are about to face in the after-life.

Individuals who are at a limited time of being alive due to their severe health conditions are the ones who are often preoccupied with so much worriedness. They worry too much about what will happen to them when they die.

There is no medical cure that can permanently stop a person from worrying but only though counseling. Although, counseling isn’t really effective for everyone because a person’s thought will never go away where it keeps on coming back.

So a person who is dying due to his incurable condition, every time that he counts the remaining days of his life, this will let him be reminded about his approaching death. It is actually a psychological issue that can be so hard to face and overcome.

Psychological Fear

But for a normal healthy person, dying isn’t yet an important issue, that is why they can easily just go on with their own life.

Ignoring Death

Ignoring Death

Perhaps, one of the best way to overcome your fear and anxiety about death is just to ignore anything about death. Think of it as not a big issue which is just a part of life. In short, learn to accept it.

If you are actually in constant fear because you believe that there is no life after death, then you really have to change your philosophical view to a more suitable one. You have to know that there is still no solid evidence that can really supply us with the necessary information about the after-life. Thus, everything relies on your own belief.

By having the right and acceptable belief into your own mind, you will be able to learn and accept death which allows you to overcome the anxiety caused by it especially when your time is about to come.

No Idea about the After Life

No Idea About Death

There are some people who do not totally care about their death and the after-life. Majority of them don’t even have any philosophical beliefs that can guide them about what to expect.

Thus, when their time is about to come to an end, they are the ones who will most likely to suffer so much fear and anxiety.

The feeling is like, you are left clueless not knowing what to do with the remaining time that you still have. There will be a lot of sudden questions about death circulating into their unprepared minds which makes them totally feel disabling.

Philosophical beliefs about life after death

Philosophical Belief

The best way to actually overcome your fear of death particularly if you are afraid that there is no life after death is through philosophical belief.

Go find a spiritual belief that can answer everything that you ask about life after death that really do make sense. There are so many spiritual beliefs out there that you can choose from so I can’t recommend which one of them is right for you. In short, you have to figure it out for yourself.

Through philosophical belief, your mental state will learn to accept that there is a life after death. And common among them all, you will be given a new life into a new world where you will either be punished for your evil sins or rewarded for your good deeds that you’ve done on this physical realm.

3 Common Questions Why People Fear Death

People who found themselves complete happiness on this world that we live today are the ones who often experience so much anxiety due to death. Their fear of death even becomes stronger when they suddenly felt sick or acquired some serious health conditions.

As they get reminded that we all humans needs to die, questions like the following keeps on boggling their own minds.

Is there really life after death?

There are already many individuals who experienced “death for a short while” then they got miraculously revived back to life to share what they experienced. However, their stories seem to be quite different from one another.

In my own opinion, I think that an experience where all the system of your body shuts down for a short amount of time then you suddenly came back to life isn’t considered death. What I consider as death is when a person dies, the body should remain dead for at least several days or even much longer. And when that person came back to life after those number of days, the experience that he or she had maybe more acceptable.

Unfortunately, no one would be able to come back to life for such a long period of time. Since by the time that the human body is dead, all its system will stop to function. This will result into quick deterioration of all the vital parts.

Most parts of your body such as your bone, tendon and skin can survive for as long as 8 to 12 hours period. But as for the brain, the cells can only last for 3 minutes. This is the reason why people who can come back to life after being clinically dead for more than 3 minutes is very rare.

So going back to the question, sad to say that there is still no solid and acceptable answer that we on this current generation cannot accept regarding about life after death.

Is there a God or deities?

Another common question that is related to death is the existence of God or deities.

Again, this is a question with no straight answer. It is more about your spiritual belief of what you want to believe.

Why do we have to die?

If we are going to answer this question according to the field of science, you will simply get an explanation about the cells particularly the aging process of the human body.

But when it comes to spiritual religion, you may get an explanation that God designed it that way for He prepared a much better place for those people who have faith in Him.

Conclusion

People who believes in life after death do have nothing to fear about when they die. But for those who have the opposite belief, they do fear it especially when they have so much to loss on this physical world.

So if you are one among them, the best possible way to overcome your fear is to find a philosophical view about the after-life that you are willing to learn and accept.

Awaken your Soul | Access to Inner Spiritual Powers

When speaking about soul, the general perspective of most people about it is that it's somewhat connected to "life". If a certain person dies, his or her soul will be separated from his or her physical body. But did you know that based on some spiritual belief, soul is not just a life-giving matter? There's actually more about it which has something to do with passion, creativity, intuition and connection to the Divine.

Your soul possess an incredible inner powers that you've long lost or forgotten. And to recover it, all you just have to do is to remember it.

According to "Reincarnation", when a certain person dies, his or her soul will go back into the spiritual realm. A lot of process will take place which include erasing the person's past memories before being reborn back into the physical world. Although, the memories are not actually erased. It's still there within the soul but has been forgotten by the newly reborn individual.

Can you just imagine yourself if you can access those hidden memories of your past? Some spiritual gurus claims that once this has been achieved, you will be enlightened about everything.

Here are the following simple and basic steps on how to connect into your soul:

1. The Nature of your Soul

You have to know that your "soul" is different from your "spirit". Soul is actually more "feminine" in nature while your spirit is more "masculine". If you are able to unite both your soul and spirit, it will give birth to "wholeness".

Soul

2. Feminine and Masculine Energy

Your feminine energy or soul are comprised of your imagination, passion, desires, emotions and creativity. As for your masculine energy, it is composed of your will power, action, motivation, intellect and productivity. Today, most of us are more focused on their masculine energy which involves physical tasks. Thus, the soul is weaken.

Masculine Soul

Feminine Soul

To help your soul, you have to support your feminine energy by learning and discovering the powers of imagination, creativity, passion and emotions. Give yourself some time to develop these qualities which will strengthen your soul.

3. Connect with the Divine

Regardless of what spiritual religion you believe, you have a personal or private connection into the Creator. It is like you having connection into your own mind. So on this third step, you have to deepen your connection into the Divine and seek for help in strengthening your soul.

Divine Connection

4. Passion and Pleasure

On this busy world, the majority of individuals are giving most of their time into their jobs. They no longer have the time for their passion and pleasure in life. This ends up starving their souls. If you are one of them, you really have to "make time" for your passion and pleasure.

Pleasure

5. Relax and Meditate

In order for you to relax, you have to find a place where you cannot be disturbed. It must be a quiet place that allows your mind to listen into your inner "voice of intuition". Meditation may take some time to practice. Anyway, there's tons of free guides out there that you can follow. If you still fail then you may want to find a good teacher.

Meditation

6. Express your Repressed Emotions

Your soul has a very strong connections into your emotions. So if you are suffering into some kind of bad emotion, it also affect your soul in a negative way. If you have repressed feelings, they are blocking your creativity, passions, intuition and imagination. In order to unblock them, you have to express those repressed emotions that you have. Some repressed emotions includes anger, hurt, disappointment and fear.

Repressed Emotions

7. Do Good to Others

If it happens that you already helped someone in need then you must have experienced the unexplainable happiness or joyful feeling deep inside you. This feeling is actually an impact towards your soul from getting healed or being strengthened due to your good actions.

Helping Others

Overall, strengthening your soul will enlighten your mind allowing you to understand everything in this world which includes our controversial topic about, "Life After Death".

Real Facts about Life After Death

So far, mankind has yet to discover or prove the existence of life-after-death but with the exemption of various religious beliefs. According to most religions, those righteous people are greatly rewarded for their good deeds once they have died.

If you come to think about it, what if you died (physical death) and you really cease to exist? It's like you have never existed in the first place. Some people may be able to accept it but for most, it gives them a very unsettling mind.

Unsettling Mind

Here are the facts regarding about mankind's current view about life-after-death:

1. Life-After-Death can be Easily Disproved

There isn't actually any strong physical evidence that can prove the existence of life-after-death. It's because no one was able to undergo physical death and came back to life to tell something about it. But when it comes to Christian Religious belief, Jesus Christ was the proof.

How about Near-Death-Experiences or Out-of-the-Body-Experiences?

Those people who experienced NDE or OBE didn't really left their bodies out and wondered around various places of the spiritual realm. In fact, some scientists claim that a person who undergoes physical death can still be revived within six hours period from the time of his or her death. Thus, those NDE experiences probably took place inside the person's own consciousness.

2. Our High Level of Consciousness Suggests that there may be a Afterlife

We humans have reached such a high level of consciousness especially about our existence. Everyone are aware about their mortality that physical death will soon arrive to each one of us. It can never be avoided.

With such state of consciousness, it would be pointless living on this life if there is no life-after-death that awaits us. In short, it would have been much better if we didn't existed in the first place. But if this is what really awaits us, then it is the ultimate form of cruelty.

3. Science cannot Prove the Existence of Life-After-Death

Science has its limits. There are still so many scientific boundaries that can never be explained. The study of "Life" alone is a subject that science could not explain and duplicate with any artificial means. Aside from life is our "Consciousness". Our consciousness didn't simply came out from nothing.

4. A Creator of Ultimate Spiritual Force behind Everything

Many people believe that the universe weren't created by its own natural way. If it did then there is probably no life on it as it does not care about the existence of life. Since the world was created and made perfectly suitable for life to flourish, there's a strong possibility that a certain "Driving Force" or "Creator" is responsible for the design of everything.

5. Most Individuals doesn't care about Afterlife

On this modern age world, most people are too wrap up with their busy daily activities that they don't even have the time for themselves for some self-reflection. As a result, most of them don't believe about life-after-death.

If you are one of them, I suggest that you should give yourself some time and spend it in a silent room with no distractions. You have to do this though when you are not sleepy or tired. Inside the room, what you have to do is to engage yourself in a deep thought about the subject. In most cases, your insight will lead you into the truth.

6. Not Knowing about Life-After-Death is Best for Us

Some intriguing questions about the life are the following:

a. Why are we not aware about who really created us?
b. Where do we go after we die?
c. Do we really have a purpose in life?
d. Why humans and other living creatures exists?
e. Why don't we have direct knowledge about the Creator?
f. Why can't we contact our Creator?

Those are just some of the few questions that most people often asks about our existence. To answer them (based on my own opinion), maybe "not knowing is the best for us".

Let's assume that we already know the answers into those questions above. As a result, everyone will surely get motivated to do the right thing to achieve the reward into their actions.

7. There is Life-After-Death without a Creator or God

Most of us really believe that the universe was designed by a highly intelligent being known as the "Creator". Thus, afterlife is a strong possibility for each one of us. In fact, most religions around the world claims that the Creator have prepared everyone a place to stay after our physical death. Although the settings or restrictions varies from one religious belief to another.

On the other hand, did you know that the opposite can also be a possibility?

The opposite case is that, there could be life-after-death but without a Creator or God.

8. Reincarnation has a Strong Possibility

Each and every one of us has their own unique personality. According to reincarnation beliefs, your personality reflects yourself in your past previous lives. This is probably the reason why some people are much smarter or wiser than the others. It's because they had already undergone several cycles of being reincarnated back to life here on Earth.

9. There is no God

Today, the world offers various sufferings especially injustices, abuses and social inequalities. Due to such unpleasant situation of the world, people tends to believe that there is no God, otherwise why would God allows such unfair sufferings in our lives. Although, some people who sticks in the belief of God that the right time will soon come to the wicked for their punishments.

10. A Sense of What is Right and Wrong

As a human being into this world, we are given the capability to use our own mind especially for the judgment of our actions. It is quite surprising that all of us are aware about "what is right" and "what is wrong". In fact, young children quickly develops these two kinds of awareness.

Our Creator probably gave us the sense of knowing what is right and wrong so that we can self evaluate and regulate our actions or behaviors for a good cause.

Christian Belief about Life After Death

Common to all Christian followers, they have a strong beliefs on the doctrines written in the Holy Scriptures of the "Bible". In fact, there are several parts of the scriptures written in the Holy Book that tells a lot of things about life-after-death.

We all know that on this world that we currently live-in, it offers us a lot of difficulties especially in the form of "inequality" and "unfairness". But despite of such terrible situations, there is a "Good Life" that awaits anyone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Suffering is actually a part of everyone's life on Earth. No one is exempted it's because Satan is the current ruler of our world. This can be read at 1 John 5:19;

1 John 5:19] "We all know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the Evil One."

Some people even blame God for their sufferings that he is the one responsible in order to test them from their faith. Or, it's some sort of a challenge. While for others, they will end up hating God and denying his very existence. They will question him that, "If God really do exists then why wouldn't he save someone who is caught at a desperate situation?".

If you are going to read Job 3:1-3, Job himself had complained to God about his sufferings.

Job 3:1-3] "Finally Job broke the silence and cursed the day on which he had been born."
2-3] "O God, put a curse on the day I was born; put a curse on the night when I was conceived!"

Again, the answer as to "Why people suffer" is not due to God but because of Satan who is the current god of this world. You have to know that Satan's main goal is to tempt and deceive mankind to follow his ideals. By losing your faith to God, it means that you had fallen under Satan's deception.

When speaking about "Sufferings", this involves all types of wickedness brought upon a certain individual. King Solomon himself had spoken about injustices of our world that the dead are "happier than the living".

Ecclesiastes 4:1-3] "Then I looked again at all the injustice that goes on in this world. The oppressed were crying, and no one would help them. No one would help them, because their oppressors had power on their side. 2] I envy those who are dead and gone; they are better off than those who are still alive. 3] But better off than either are those who have never been born, who have never seen the injustice that goes on in this world."

The Righteous and the Unrighteous

"Righteous" and "Unrighteous" can also be referred as the "Good" and "Bad". And according to the Bible, either you are a righteous or unrighteous individual, you will be resurrected at the time of Judgment. However, the righteous will receive their eternal life while the unrighteous will be condemned for their sins.

John 5: 28-29] "Do not be surprised at this; the time is coming when all the dead will hear his voice 29] and come out of their graves: those who have done good will rise and live, and those who have done evil will rise and be condemned."

The Bible actually speaks about two stages of resurrection. On Revelation 20:6, the "first resurrection" has been described.

Revelation 20:6] "Happy and greatly blessed are those who are included in this first raising of the dead. The second death has no power over them; they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and they will rule with him for a thousand years."

A more detailed explanation about the "second death" can be read from Revelation 21:8.

Revelation 21:8] "But cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practice magic, those who worship idols, and all liars -- the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Second death only applies to the sinners.

Life After Death for the Sinners

As mentioned above, all sinners will be resurrected back to life but in return, they will receive their eternal punishments. The life-after-death that awaits sinners is well described by the Bible's scripture found at Luke 16:22-23.

Luke 16:22-24] "The poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the feast in heaven. The rich man died and was buried, 23] and in Hades, where he was in great pain, he looked up and saw Abraham, far away, with Lazarus at his side. 24] So he called out, ' Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool off my tongue, because I am in great pain in this fire!'."

The rich man who was a sinner claims to be in "great pain" being tormented by the heat of the fire. Thus, this is what awaits sinners for their life-after-death.

Life After Death for the Righteous

All believers and followers of Jesus Christ will come back to life (from the first resurrection). And to honor their faith, they will be granted an entrance into the "new heavens" and the "new earth" (Revelation 21:1). Apart from the opportunity to live a good life into the new world, there's a free gift of an everlasting life.

Holy Bible

So do you want to earn your place into the promised new world? If you do then you may start by reading the Holy Bible.

Jehovah Witnesses Point of View About the Dead

If you live in a country that allows Christian Religious practices then surely, you might have already been visited by one of the "Jehova Witnesses". They are actually a large (world-wide) Christian Religious group that emerge in sharing Bible Studies to anyone who are interested.

Jehova Witnessess religious group was first founded by Charles Taze Russell in the late 1870s who had also organized, "Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society". The organization was later handed under the leadership of Joseph Franklin Rutherford who made a lot of changes into the doctrines.

Where are the Dead According to the Jehova Witnesses' Belief?

The book entitled "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" owned and published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society had covered a topic about life-after-death in Chapter Six of the book. The question "Where Are the Dead?" has been discussed.

Why Do We Die?

According to the JWs (Jehova Witnesses), we die because of the "Sin" that has been imparted to us by Adam and Eve. They were the first two human beings created by God to walk on the surface of the Paradise-Earth. Unfortunately, they committed their Sin by neglecting their creator's advice.

God had told Adam and Eve not to eat from the "tree of the knowledge of good and bad". This was just one single forbidden tree among all the other countless number of trees around them that they were allowed to eat their fruits. Yet, they still ate the fruit from the forbidden tree which made them as the humans who had committed the very first Sin from God.

Before Adam and Eve had committed their Sin, they were actually blessed with an eternal or everlasting life which means that they don't die. However, as a punishment for their disobedience, God gave them death in a sense that death will come as they age or get older in time. This punishment of death was passed down to their children and from their children into the next generations onwards.

Death will be No More

In Revelation 21:4 of the Bible, you can read a prophecy about death which clearly stated that "death will be no more". Here's the complete verse from the Bible:

Revelation 21:4] "He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared."

Jehova Witnesses' Disagreement to other Religious Belief about Death

Not all Christian Religious groups have the same perspective view about death. JWs claims that the following outcomes of life-after-death are considered as false teachings:

1. The Heaven and Hell

When a certain person died who did a lot of good things in his life (which include serving God) on Earth, he or she will enter the "Heaven" (or Paradise). But for those who committed sins, they will be sent into the underworld called "Hell" to receive their eternal punishment.

2. Purgatory

If people are to be judge according to their good and bad deeds, how about those people who fall somewhere in-between? According to some religions, these people will be sent into a place called "Purgatory". At this place, they will be given the chance to correct themselves.

3. Reincarnation

Reincarnation has been covered in the past previous topic. Anyway, this is actually a spiritual belief that when a certain individual dies, he will be resurrected back to life but on a different physical form (human, animal or any other living creature on Earth).

4. Some Part of Us Survives Death

Common to all religions is that, when a person dies some part of his or her self survives.

Is there Really Life-After-Death?

JWs strongly believe that once a certain person died, he or she cease to exists. His or her senses will be lost where there is no part of him or her that will remain conscious after death. In short, "Death is the opposite of Life".

Further proof can be read on the Bible verses, Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 and Psalms 146: 4;

Ecclesiastes 9:5] "Yes, the living know they are going to die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward; they are completely forgotten."

Ecclesiastes 9:10] "Work hard at whatever you do, because there will be no action, no thought, no knowledge, no wisdom in the world of the dead - and that is where you are going."

Psalms 146: 4] "When they die, they return to the dust; on that day all their plans come to an end."

Cemetery of the dead

Moreover, Jehova Witnesses believes that when the time of God's "Judgement" will come (which they also refer as the "Armageddon"), the world will be cleansed out from wickedness then after that, all righteous individuals are to be resurrected back to life.

Reincarnation in the Bible

Reincarnation is a belief that when a certain person dies, his soul will once again revive but from another different physical body or other living creatures on Earth. This topic has already been covered on this post:

What is Reincarnation and is it Real?

You have to know that Christian belief is strongly against reincarnation because it clearly made conflicts or contradictions to the doctrines written in the Bible. This was clearly pointed out in Hebrews 9:27;

27] "Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God".

Based from Hebrews 9:27, every individual will only die just once. There won't be any resurrection to another physical body that is involved. Once you died, you will no longer have another chance to live a life on Earth. But upon death, God will soon be the judge that holds your fate.

If you are aware about the story of Jesus Christ, specifically at the part when he was crucified along with the other two criminals, he said something about life-after-death. This can be read on the Bible's Luke 23:43;

43] Jesus said to him, "I promise you that today you will be in Paradise with me".

One of the criminal who was crucified along with Jesus Christ had repented for his sins. Thus, Jesus had promised him that he will be together with him in Paradise upon their death. This means that life-after-death is about reaping a good way of life by living in a Paradise. But of course, you need to follow Jesus' teachings in order to be there.

How about the sinners?

Various Christian religions often comes into disagreement about light-after-death that awaits for the sinners. Some claims that sinners will be resurrected back to life but in their own spiritual form. They will then be tortured for eternity as punishment for their sins. While for others, resurrection or life-after-death is only for the righteous people and not for the sinners. In short, they will remain dead. So which one do you believe?

The fate of the unrighteous was revealed on Matthew 25:46;

46] "These, then, will be sent off to eternal punishment, but the righteous will go to eternal life."

There is actually no clear description about the eternal punishment. But for some Christian religion, the punishment is that, sinners will be thrown into the burning pit of fire or also known as "Hell".

Controversial Evidence of Reincarnation in the Bible

Some people claims that the Bible never mentioned anything about reincarnation but there is a controversial evidence of reincarnation that took place between John the Baptist and Elijah. This can be read at Matthew 17:10-12;

10] Then the disciples asked Jesus, "Why do the teachers of the Law say that Elijah has to come first?"

11] "Elijah is indeed coming first," answered Jesus, "and he will get everything ready. 12] But I tell you that Elijah has already come and people did not recognize him, but treated him just as they pleased. In the same way they will also mistreat the Son of Man."

The Bible though never mentioned that John the Baptists was the reincarnation of Elijah. To further clear things out, the people had actually asked John the Baptist if he was Elijah. His answer can be found at John 1:21;

21] "Who are you, then?" they asked. "Are you Elijah?"
"No, I am not," John answered.
"Are you the Prophet?" they asked.
"No," he replied.

Therefore, the controversial claimed evidence of reincarnation in the Bible isn't true.

The Reason Why Reincarnation is Flawed

As already mentioned above, the righteous people will reap their reward by living in a Paradise while the unrighteous will be dealt with eternal punishments. In terms of reincarnation, when good people are resurrected back to life, they end up being born from the luxury of good parents. But for the bad people, they will end up being born as poor individuals.

The main objective of reincarnation for a certain individual from being repeatedly reborn is to achieve perfection. This is where the flaw comes in because the fact is, people always commit sins. You have to know that merely thinking or having a thought of bad things into your own mind is already considered a sin. Due to this reason, no one will be able to achieved perfection and graduate out from reincarnation.

In the Bible, it was clearly stated that all people have sinned, turned from God and gone on their own way. You can read them at Romans 3:23, Isaiah 53:6, Jeremiah 17:9, Psalm 53:3 and Ecclesiastes 7:20.

Assuming that Christianity had accepted reincarnation, what is actually the benefit of being reborn? Considering that on your first life, you are a sinner who has turned away from God. Then on your next life, you came back as a different person but again, "as a sinner who turns away from God". This process of being resurrected over-and-over again brings no benefit to anyone.

As sinners, we require forgiveness in order for us to gain the benefits of eternal or everlasting life. The Bible repeatedly states that people should ask God for repentance and remain faithful to him at all times. Once God have forgiven your sins, you will be spending your next life in a wonderful place of Paradise. There is no need to be reincarnated at a different physical human body just to spend another life-time back to Earth.

Holy Bible

Moreover, reincarnation has already been around for a thousand years. It is actually a very popular belief that is considered by Christian as "false belief" because it contradicts the scriptures found in the Bible. But for other religions especially in the Indian Religious sectors, they do strongly believe in reincarnation. And just like the Bible, they also have their own holy scriptures that proves reincarnation's existence.
